Farmer's Dump Cleanup
Above is a short movie of the dump cleanup progress. It may take a minute to load. Click on the arrow to play.

Cleanup has resumed for winter 2012.

February 5th weather forecast: to come.

Please help finish cleaning up an old farmer’s dump just north of Corral Bluffs Open Space. Cleanup is every Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00PM (except holidays and bad weather days).

Generally, if it’s precipitating, below 40º or there are gale-like winds, the cleanup will be cancelled for that day (though we've been known to be there anyway). If the weather seems questionable, please check this site the morning of the cleanup.

Most heavy items have been removed, but many, many small items still need to be sorted into piles for recycling.

Meet at the corner of Hoofbeat & Davis Road at 1:00PM. See map below. Wear old clothes, work gloves, sunscreen and tough-soled shoes. Bring water and snacks for yourself.

If you’ve never seen Corral Bluffs, we’ll take you on a short hike before you help with the cleanup.

Volunteers have recycled: 8-1/2 tons of metal, 2-1/2 tons of wood, 1 ton of tires, 8-1/4 tons of concrete and numerous large boxes of glass and plastic. They’ve also filled 7 large roll-off dumpsters with trash.

We've been working with Waste Management and the Wildlife Habitat Council to make this land into wildlife habitat. To help with that goal, Boy Scout, Evan Smith, organized the construction and installation of thirty bluebird houses around the perimeter of an approximately 150 acre parcel.
